The average turn around for a freehold transaction is 6 – 8 weeks, and for a leasehold 6 – 12 weeks. We can not guarantee specific time scales due to many factors beyond our control playing a part, however we will endeavour to work towards a date suitable for you and towards making the conveyancing process as smooth and stress free as possible. The person dealing with your transaction will keep you updated throughout via telephone and email, making sure you know exactly what is happening at all times.

Once you have instructed us to act on your behalf, we will send you our initial pack which will inform you of the name, direct dial, email address and fax of the person dealing with your transaction. They will then deal with you personally from this point on guiding you through every step of the process and answering any questions you may have.

If you are getting a mortgage on the property you are purchasing, the lender will require you to have the ‘local authority’ and the ‘water and drainage’. Also, if you are living in a mining area, they will require you to have the ‘coal mining’ search. The other searches available are the ‘environmental’ and ‘chancel’. The person dealing with your transaction will be able to advise you on these searches.
